Hudson Street, New York

The apartment is located in the iconic Printing House in the west village. To create this serene residence, two smaller apartments were combined and given a full gut renovation that maximized space and natural light.  The essential design objective was to enhance a typical apartment layout with a loft-like quality of openness with a 18-feet double height living room overlooking the Hudson River.

 

Customized mill work, Italian glass doors and blackened steel structure were carried to the ceiling to accentuate the rooms height and create consistent, clean planes on every wall. Finally, a custom walk in closet was created connecting to a two story bookshelf via a steel elevated platform.
